Upway is a fast growing startup building the largest marketplace for refurbished e-bikes globally. We have refurbished over 50,000 e-bikes in just three years and are growing fast! Upway's mission is to make e-mobility accessible to a wide range of people. Our goal is to build the largest and highest quality e-bike range by sourcing and reconditioning the best e-bikes.
The Netherlands is a strategic key market, and to support our growth we are looking for an Operations Lead. The Operations team’s role is to create the largest and highest-quality e-bike offering for Upway shoppers, by sourcing the best e-bikes, refurbishing them and delivering them to their new owner in a seamless customer experience.
The Operations Lead of Amsterdam, will be responsible for owning the operational flow of our 7000m2 UpCenter in Zuid-Oost, and grow it to a 200 FTE team. This includes managing all the teams in our UpCenter, including middle management, setting the priorities for the teams, managing the UpCentrer P&L and operational targets, building processes to optimize operations, analyzing data to understand and bridge gaps, and working closely with the rest of the company to provide best in class experiences to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and lead a strong team of managers, operation associates and bike mechanics
• Define targets, priorities and strategy
• Own the UpCenter P&L/budget, ensuring targets are met
• Go deep into the data to find optimization opportunities
• Design and implement processes to optimize operational flow and financial efficiency
• Set up tools and dashboards to get an accurate view on operations
• Work closely with the rest of the company to support an extremely fast paced growth and expansion

What you will need

• Strong academic background
• 6+ years of experience in Operations, Consulting, Finance, or equivalent
• Fluency in English or Dutch, Dutch is a strong plus.
• Possess strong communication and leadership skills, able to lead, motivate and inspire a large team
• Superior problem solving skills: able to manage details, establish root causes, and to analyse data
• Comfort with working in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Attention to details and obsession for operational excellence
• Readiness to be fully accountable for a complex operational scope
