Job Description

Job purpose:

Oversee the Operational effectiveness and plant integrity in all Company sites and operations and to guide and implement the Operational Strategy in order to meet the Business Strategy of the Company.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide reliable and cost effective operational supply solutions to each Business Unit
  • Ensure that all Operations meet legislative compliance requirements
  • Ensure the integrity of the company assets is managed and maintained
  • Ensure all operations are conducted according to accepted standards
  • Minimize plant downtime
  • Comply with all statutory maintenance and inspection requirements at all times
  • Manage the Operational requirements across all Industrial Chemical plants in various geographic locations
  • Manage various growth and sustainability projects along with major plant turnaround projects at scheduled intervals
  • Compile and administer annual department operational and capital budgets and ensure adherence with the budget plan
  • Ensure that all critical and statutory documentation is managed, up to date and readily accessible
  • Contribute to strategic direction of the division
  • Ensure Strategy execution within the operational envelope
  • Provide Leadership and direction to the team to drive a high-performance culture

Minimum Requirements:

  • BSc Chemical Engineering, BSc Chemistry
  • Previous Chemical Plant Operations experience pre-requisite
  • 8-10 Years prior Senior Management and Engineering Experience
  • Computer Literacy
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and priorities
  • Ability to manage, coach and mentor a diverse work force
  • Ability to interact effectively with other departments, suppliers & service providers.
