About the role
As an Operations Engineer, you support the manufacturing of high-end Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM), ensuring systems meet performance and quality standards throughout the production process.
Your focus lies in resolving complex technical issues that arise during production, particularly in the final system validation stages close to shipment. In this phase, system performance is verified against strict requirements, often under time pressure and with direct impact on delivery timelines.
You operate at the interface of Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, and other internal stakeholders, addressing a wide range of technical challenges. This includes working in a dynamic manufacturing environment with a broad variety of technical challenges, requiring a pragmatic approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
This role is positioned within sustaining engineering, meaning your primary focus is on supporting and stabilizing existing products in manufacturing. You contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) activities as a Subject Matter Expert, but do not carry project ownership.
In addition to the core responsibilities, you will also support the integration and troubleshooting of specialized modules (such as Energy Filters/EELS), working closely with domain experts.
