About the Role:

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Operations Director with over 10 years of experience in the clearing and forwarding industry. The ideal candidate should possess extensive expertise in managing operations both local (Tanzania) and international. This role requires exceptional leadership, strategic thinking and operational efficiency to drive growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to optimize the company’s clearing and forwarding operations in Tanzania and overseas markets.
• Process Optimization: Ensure smooth and efficient workflows, reducing turnaround times and improving service delivery.
• Regulatory Compliance: Oversee adherence to all customs, freight and logistics regulations both locally and internationally.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor and develop the operations team to achieve high performance and maintain operational standards.
• Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional customer service.
• International Operations: Oversee and manage cross-border operations, ensuring alignment with global best practices.
• Performance Monitoring: Track operational KPIs, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures to enhance efficiency.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to align operations with organizational goals.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in the clearing and forwarding industry, including leadership roles.
• Proven experience working in Tanzania and international markets.
• Deep understanding of customs procedures, freight forwarding and logistics operations.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
