The Director of Operations is responsible for planning, leading, and optimizing all activities for Goodwill Industries of Arkansas' Transportation, post operations processing, E-commerce, recycling, Donations, Home pick-up service, and outlet stores. The director is accountable for achieving the organization's strategic goals, including budgeted performance, operational productivity, and expense control. The Director of Operations will ensure superior customer and donor service while working closely with the Vice President of Operations to identify efficiency gains and growth opportunities. This position requires high energy, strong leadership presence, and a passion for Goodwill's mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute operational plans aligned with organizational priorities, budget goals, and growth objectives.
- Lead day-to-day operations across assigned functions to ensure consistent execution and service reliability and operational efficiency.
- Oversee donation flow, transportation, warehouse operations, recycling, outlet operations, and related logistics.
- Establish, implement and sustain standard operating procedures, standard work, and audit routines to drive consistency and accountability
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across productivity, service, donation activity, expense control, and throughput to identify gaps and drive corrective action.
- Take prompt corrective action when performance fall below expectations.
- Lead regular operating reviews, assign follow-up actions, and ensure accountability through consistent management cadence.
- Ensure staffing, scheduling, and labor deployment are aligned with operational demands.
- Recruit, onboard, train, coach, evaluate, and discipline team members in accordance with company policy.
- Develop managers and supervisors through coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
- Conduct regular field inspections to verify safety, housekeeping, inventory accuracy, dock flow, and operational standards.
- Manage labor planning, expenses, budgets, vendors, service providers, and supply partners to ensure service quality and cost effectiveness and operational readiness.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste, improve service, and increase operational capacity.
- Provide operational updates, insights, and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned

·Assigned functions meet or exceed goals for productivity, service, expense control, donation support, recycling recovery, and outlet performance.
·KPIs are reviewed consistently, and performance gaps are addressed through clear follow-up and timely escalation.

·Safety, compliance issues, preventable losses, and operational control failures are reduced through active oversight.
·Warehouse housekeeping, inventory accuracy, dock flow, and supply readiness support safe and efficient execution.

Additional Expectations:
·Ability to work in warehouse, production, and outdoor environments with varying temperatures and conditions.
·Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
·This position requires approximately 30%–40% in-state travel, with occasional overnight and out-of-state travel. Must be able to travel independently between multiple locations and work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
·Must successfully complete and maintain an acceptable background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with company policy.
·Must comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
