Upway is hiring an Operations Manager among its Launch Operations team in Düsseldorf. The Operations team’s role is to create the largest and highest-quality e-bike offering for Upway shoppers, by sourcing the best e-bikes, refurbishing them and delivering them to their new owner in a seamless customer experience.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for owning entire parts of operational flow, managing teams in our warehouse, building processes to optimize operations, analyzing data to understand and bridge gaps, and working closely with the rest of the company to provide best in class experiences to customers.
Customer Experience & Technical Handover Welcome customers during bike drop-offs. Perform a short (5-minute) technical triage, checking frame, motor, and battery. Hand over sold bikes to their new owners via Click & Collect
Logistics & Route Planning Plan and coordinate daily and weekly pickup routes across the NRW region. Continuously optimize routes to reduce empty mileage and improve efficiency
Carrier Management Act as the main point of contact for external logistics partners handling long-distance shipments
Upcenter Management Organize and manage the check-in area within the Upcenter. Ensure all digital records (e.g. serial numbers, customer data) are accurately and completely maintained in the system
Logistics mindset: You have a natural talent for planning and organization, always thinking two steps ahead when it comes to routes and schedules
Service mindset: You enjoy interacting with people and remain calm, friendly, and professional—even during busy periods
Technical interest: You don’t need to be a professional mechanic, but you have a general interest in bikes and e-bikes
Bilingual: You communicate confidently in both German and English—whether speaking with logistics partners on the phone or customers in person
Problem solver: Whether a driver is stuck in traffic or a customer has a question, you proactively find quick and effective solutions with a positive attitude
