About the Job

Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity/Pursuits phase
  1. Provide coordination support for assigned Pacific opportunities, including opportunity setup, liaison with subcontractors and JV partners, preparation of administrative and BMS compliance requirements, CV formatting, proposal quality checks, and submission support.
  2. Monitor and identify current opportunities from IFI, local client websites, and other opportunity portals on a regular basis.

3.Should have a good understanding of SMEC’s standard proposal pricing approach.

  • Project Implementation Phase
  1. Review project reports and ensure formats are in accordance with SMEC Business Management System (BMS), Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and appropriate technical standards.
  2. Assist and work closely with the Project Directors, Project Managers and Coordinators on to ensure successful delivery of projects including achieving the target contribution margins, minimal WIP and Debtors and invoicing are up to date.
  3. May assist in setting up new projects in this region in consultation with the Regional and Functional Manager. This may include, but not limited to, physical arrangement with respect to housing, accommodation, travel of staff, logistics, office equipment, etc.
  4. Assist Project Managers in project audits and review of project inputs and outputs.
  5. Coordinate and may attend relevant meetings with clients, stakeholders, contractors and project teams and facilitate the transfer of information required for various aspects of projects, when necessary.
  6. Proficiency with the company’s financial systems, processes, and procedures.
  7. Assist in the preparation or review of all contracts with staff working in the SEA & Pacific regional projects.
  8. Support other Project Managers in preparation of sub consultancy and joint-venture agreements as may be applicable with associates and JV partners.

Collaborate with appropriate team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or relevant field
  • Minimum three years of experience in Project Management/Procurement and/or Business Development
  • Experience in Multinational Engineering industry is an advantage
  • High level communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Ability to write effectively in English to furnish reports and to prepare business development materials including proposals.
  • Ability to plan for and keep track of multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Willingness to continue building skills through educational opportunities.
