Job Title: Operations Coordinator, Lead

Work Place Flexibility: Onsite

/ Purpose
This position is responsible for directing, scheduling, training, and developing Distribution Control Center Operators to ensure the safe, reliable, and customer-focused operation of the electric distribution system. The role entails providing leadership in daily operations, emergency response, and continuous improvement initiatives, while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence. Additionally, the responsibilities include planning, scheduling, drafting, and executing orders for both planned and unplanned outages, as well as substituting for operators or the Supervisor at the discretion of DOC Leadership.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
• Direct and monitor daily activities of distribution operators to ensure safe and efficient system operations
Ensure accurate and timely execution of switching operations and outage restoration using ADMS/OMS/DMS platforms.
• Review and validate outage data for accuracy and completeness.
Provide active support for Distribution Operations Center (DOC) functions by performing Operator or Supervisor duties as needed, particularly during peak demand periods, emergencies, or at the discretion of DOC Leadership.
• Design, deliver, and evaluate on-the-job and simulator-based training programs to enhance operator proficiency.
Maintain training documentation and ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and coach operators to support career development and performance improvement.
Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to the operator team.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement, and actively contribute to safety meetings and stand-downs by reinforcing these core values and principles.
Champion a strong safety culture by enforcing safety protocols and Human Performance (HU) and engineering tools.
Identify and mitigate operational hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations.
• Lead or support storm and emergency restoration efforts within assigned and neighboring areas.
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders during critical events.
Collaborate with engineering, field operations, and customer service teams to resolve issues and improve service reliability.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support operational goals.
Required to participate in the rotational on-call schedule as part of the DOC leadership team.


Minimum education required of the position:
Minimum of 7 years of professional work experience.
Strong understanding of electric distribution systems and control center operations.
Proficiency with ADMS, OMS, SCADA, and related technologies.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Commitment to safety, customer service, and operational excellence.
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams, drive process improvements, and foster a diverse and inclusive workplace.


Preferred: Experience in Distribution, Transmission, or Substation operations.
