Job Description

The Operations Coordinator - Containers plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of container logistics within the transport and rail industry. Based in Kenwick, Western Australia, this permanent full-time position is essential for coordinating activities related to container management, optimising processes, and supporting the overall operational goals of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the movement and management of containers to ensure timely delivery and compliance with regulations.
  • Manage end-to-end administrative tasks for all wharf activities within the Container Division
  • Monitor and report on container inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in operations.
  • Monitor rail and wharf activities, ensuring timely updates in Freight Tracker and accurate mapping of delivery dates/times.
  • Oversee container scheduling, delivery, and dehire processes, ensuring compliance with agreed timeframes and minimising additional costs (e.g., wharf storage, detention fees).
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to streamline logistics processes and resolve any issues that arise.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a transport environment, specifically with Wharf/Container operations.
  • Familiarity with Freight Tracker, 1-Stop booking portal, and Containerchain booking portal.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Perth Metropolitan area and local transport processes.
  • Strong data entry skills, with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and take initiative
  • Highly motivated, with a passion for continuous growth and improvement.
