The Role

The Operations Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe and compliant operation of one of the Office of Sport’s Olympic Sport Venues, including Sydney International Equestrian Centre, Sydney International Regatta Centre, Penrith Whitewater Stadium or Sydney International Shooting Centre. You’ll oversee day to day maintenance, asset management, contractor coordination and operational planning to keep facilities functional, safe and ready for events and community use. Working closely with the Facility and Operations Manager, Venue Manager and internal teams, you’ll lead maintenance programs, support minor works projects, manage budgets and contribute to business planning, all while ensuring high quality service delivery to stakeholders, hirers and sporting organisations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the maintenance and operational performance of the Venue to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Supervise work teams and support the delivery of high‑quality services and facilities.
  • Lead asset management activities, including planned, responsive and lifecycle maintenance, and oversee the asset maintenance system.
  • Coordinate Minor Works projects aligned with strategic and Venue priorities.

About You

You’re an organised and proactive operator who enjoys balancing technical, operational and stakeholder needs. With experience managing resources, vendors and teams, you bring strong problem‑solving skills, sound judgement and a commitment to delivering safe, high‑quality facilities. You’re confident navigating maintenance programs, procurement processes and operational systems, and you communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders. You’re adaptable, collaborative and committed to continuous improvement, with the flexibility to support Venue operations outside standard hours when required.

Essential requirements

  • Obtain and maintain a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
  • Current NSW Class C Driver’s License
  • Requirement to work across any day of the week (Monday to Sunday), including evenings and participation in on call arrangements, in line with business and roster needs.

For SISC based roles only:

  • Specific: Current Firearms License (Class A and B), and ability to obtain Class H.
  • Specific: Undertake a pre-employment blood lead level screening and regular follow up blood lead level testing in accordance with NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and the NSW Work Health and Safety Regulations 2025.
  • Hearing test (audiometric test) within 3 months of starting employment (baseline test) and a follow-up hearing test at least every 2 years.

For SIRC/PWS based roles only:

  • Coxswain Grade 3 Certificate (or willing and able to successfully obtain a Coxswain Grade 3 Certificate within three months of commencement).
