Job Description

The Branch Manager, under the direction of the President of Mid-Canada Rebar, is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operation of the Winnipeg MB location. You possess a comprehensive understanding of the overall flow of business from initial order coming in to product delivery and receipt of payment.
As the Branch Manager, you are essential and responsible for running an entrepreneurial business in your respective market and treat it as if it were your own. You are someone who can sustainably increase profit while creating strong alignment amongst all teams in the branch on common goals, objectives and strategic plans. In this dynamic role, the Branch Manager will provide leadership to develop an effective team that will be directly responsible for all aspects of selling, buying, producing, fabricating and project management. The incumbent will ensure that company objectives are achieved by guaranteeing resources are available and allocated, and that processes and protocols are properly communicated, and followed.

Management:
• Full project life cycle, overseeing tenders, budgets, estimates, detailing, high level project schedules, billing and collections.
• Review customer contracts for accuracy to quotations and LOI’s. Ensure all contractual issues are resolved effectively in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with corporate buying to implement inventory strategy.
• Monitor quality control systems to ensure customer service standards are maintained.
• Ensure compliance to all operational policies and procedures, including COR requirements, Health and Safety regulations and standards by promoting prevention and compliance to Mid-Canada’s Health and Safety program.
• Participate in AR, financial and job costing reviews to identify areas for improvement.
• Any additional duties as required.

qualifications

7+ years of management experience in a similar role. People leadership experience is a must.
Rebar, Construction and/or Manufacturing experience preferred.
Demonstrated success and management experience in inspiring and leading transparent, positive team environments in past roles.
Demonstrated success in management of budgets, P&L, Forecasting in past roles.
Entrepreneurial, adaptable, open to possibility and personal development.
An exceptional communicator with the ability to delegate.
Results-oriented and process driven, accountable with high expectations of self and team.

working conditions

The successful incumbent will be working minimum 40 hours per week, working at the office, manufacturing sites, construction sites, etc. The candidate must be able to attend networking events, which may take place outside of regular working hours. Some travel is required. Most travel will be via car, with limited air travel to attend trade shows and industry events. Potential exposure to the elements as well as loud noises.
