Job Description

Join a modernization-focused team automating reporting and building scalable data products. Lead high-visibility BI and ETL delivery while shaping cloud migration patterns to AWS. Partner closely with stakeholders to create reliable, well-governed insights with real operational impact.

As an Associate within Operations Automation, you lead the automation and optimization of reporting workflows and deliver scalable, low-touch ETL/data integration solutions. You translate business needs into governed BI products, balancing strategic modernization with hands-on execution. You drive migration of legacy/manual processes and data workflows from on-premises platforms to AWS.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of BI and ETL initiatives across requirements, design, build, test, deploy, and production support.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement by managing expectations, driving decisions, providing status updates, and escalating risks/issues.
  • Design robust Pentaho ETL workflows optimized for reliability, performance, reusability, and maintainability.
  • Develop Qlik Sense/Tableau dashboards, reporting layers, and automated refresh/validation routines.
  • Drive on-prem to AWS workflow migration by recommending target-state patterns and optimizing for cloud operations.
  • Implement documentation standards including process flows, runbooks, and data definitions, keeping artifacts current.
  • Perform advanced SQL development and query performance tuning using T-SQL and/or PL/SQL.
  • Deliver ad-hoc data analysis and production support with strong reconciliation and data integrity checks.
  • Identify process gaps, control/risk issues, and automation opportunities, proposing solutions with measurable impact.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to meet deliverables and support change management for new reporting requirements.
  • Mentor junior team members through code/design reviews, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bring at least 8 years of hands-on experience in ETL development and BI/reporting delivery.
  • Demonstrate strong experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server in enterprise environments.
  • Apply advanced SQL and query optimization skills in T-SQL and/or PL/SQL to troubleshoot complex data issues.
  • Build BI solutions using Qlik Sense and/or Tableau, including dashboard development and data validation.
  • Execute on-premises to AWS migration for data workflows with attention to design, operations, and risk controls.
  • Use Unix/Linux effectively, including shell scripting to automate and schedule workflows.
  • Deliver strong ownership and execution skills while communicating clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Use Python for automation, data processing, and tooling.
  • Leverage experience implementing CI/CD and release controls for ETL/BI assets.
  • Apply knowledge of cloud-native AWS services to improve monitoring, resiliency, and cost efficiency.
  • Strengthen data governance through metadata, lineage, and data quality controls.
  • Optimize performance across ETL, database, and BI layers using systematic tuning approaches.
  • Automate operational checks, reconciliations, and alerting to enable low-touch production support.
  • Contribute domain expertise from financial services or consulting to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
