Job Description

The Operations Attendant for the Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC), operated by Major League Baseball (MLB), is responsible for executing day-to-day facility setups and breakdowns of clubhouses, meeting rooms, storage rooms, auxiliary sleeping quarters, and other related facilities, for all athletic and non-athletic events taking place at the JRTC.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and breakdown of all athletic and non-athletic events
  • Transport and arrange tables, chairs, flip charts, and other meeting room/event/operational supplies
  • Ensure the arrangement and preparation of all facility setups are completed in accordance to the parameters set forth by the Coordinator, Operations and Lead Attendant, Operations
  • Place notepads, pens, and waters in meeting rooms
  • Setup and breakdown audio-visual equipment
  • Assemble, move, and arrange lockers where needed
  • Assemble and move beds, furniture, and other such equipment
  • Thoroughly clean dugouts prior to and after use, including washing and scrubbing, and removing trash
  • Fill, place and replenish hydration stations at athletic fields and related facilities
  • Assist with regular cleaning of the seating bowl at Holman Stadium, including removing trash
  • Set up tents, tables, and chairs
  • Place barricades, cones, and signage to direct traffic
  • Assist in package deliveries throughout campus
  • Serve as clubhouse attendant as needed for designated groups
  • Assist in monitoring and removing garbage around the facility grounds, with a focus on exterior locations, to maintain a clean and inviting environment for guests
  • Other duties as assigned by Coordinator, Operations and Lead Attendant, Operations.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Candidate must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Physical stamina and mobility including ability to lift, reach, kneel and bend
  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and managers
