Operations Associate - Regenerative California

Compensation: $35.00 - $45.00 / hour
Regenerative California (RC) is building a new kind of economy—one that restores food systems, strengthens communities, and grows prosperity over time. Our goal is bold: help California become a regenerative economy by 2035, starting with a flagship pilot in Monterey County.
We operate at the intersection of systems change, implementation, and real-world outcomes. RC is currently focused on three core initiatives:

We are seeking an Operations Associate who thrives in a start-up environment and loves building behind-the-scenes systems that allow ambitious work to scale. You will support fundraising, communications, and administrative aspects of the organization, enabling RC’s projects and partnerships to succeed.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, calm under pressure, relationship-savvy, and energized by the challenge of building systems while the plane is in the air.
Primary Responsibilities
Fundraising Support
- Collaborate with CEO and fundraising consultant on communication methods for potential funders
- Manage the fundraising CRM - maintaining a communications calendar and support in outreach and calendaring
Success looks like:
- Creating and maintaining Excel/Google Sheets-based task list (could switch platforms if needed)
- Creating and maintaining Excel/Google Sheets-based outreach tracker for collecting information on funders
- Managing fundraising communications/outreach with up to 25 funders between July - Dec 2026
Communications Management & Administrative Support
- Work side-by-side with the Regenerative California CEO
- Provide organizational support for calendaring
- Set up meetings with current and potential partners
- Serve as liaison on behalf of Regenerative California with Spoke Consulting on monthly e-newsletter and social media content
- Institute consistent turnaround time for email responses
- Support program consultants and team members on as needed basis with administrative needs
Success looks like:
- Creating and maintaining Word/Google Docs template(s) to ensure consistency across future materials
- Emailing templates/standard language for sharing information about Regenerative California (including placeholder responses when longer responses are required)
- Organizing and consistently-managing CEO's calendar
- Drafting standard operating procedures (including space for expansion, as protocols expand/staffing grows)
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate brings a combination of operational excellence, people skills, and comfort with ambiguity.
- 3+ years experience in operations, program management, executive support, or project coordination (nonprofit, social enterprise, government, consulting, or entrepreneurial setting).
- Proven ability to build systems from scratch and improve existing workflows.
- Strong project management skills: ability to track tasks, timelines, and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational instincts, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Comfort managing scheduling and logistics across multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to lead with professionalism, warmth, and clarity in a relationship-based organization.
- Ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and solve problems proactively.

Workplace, Compensation & Application
Compensation: $35-45/hr
This is a part-time, 15 hr/wk position that reports to the CEO. The position will include retirement benefits and is currently funded for 6 months.
