We are searching for an experienced OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE at our MSC Greece - Piraeus facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Associate to join our Operations team. The Operations Associate plays an important role in ensuring the smooth and timely flow of operational activities and information, supporting efficient cargo movements and vessel operations.

The role is responsible for monitoring cargo flows, coordinating the timely exchange of operational data and files, and ensuring that all relevant parties are promptly informed of any irregularities or potential disruptions.

Working closely with internal teams, terminals, planners, and MSC Geneva, the Operations Associate contributes to the efficient handling of transshipment cargo, the optimization of connections, and the overall reliability of our operations.

This position operates on a shift basis and requires strong attention to detail, effective coordination, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced operational environment.

Required Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Monitor daily cargo flows and allocate cargo to the appropriate vessels according to the next Port of Discharge.

Support the optimization of transshipment connections and contribute to minimizing container dwell time by assessing the feasibility of tight connections.

Monitor cargo operations and promptly communicate any irregularities, delays, or operational issues to the relevant stakeholders.

Prepare and dispatch daily operational reports to MSC Geneva Operations, Liner, and Planning teams.

Prepare and transmit cargo lists to MSC Geneva systems and the respective planners.

Use the CASP system, convert .asc files, and maintain accurate and up-to-date information within the Transshipment Module database.

Prepare and transmit EDI files to terminals within the required timelines and sufficiently in advance of vessel operations.

Prepare and distribute Transit Outbound Lists.

Send preliminary load lists to the next Port of Call.

Coordinate and communicate inter-terminal container transfers.

Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely transmission of operational data and documentation.

Collaborate closely with terminals, planners, and internal departments to support smooth and efficient vessel and cargo operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Shipping, Maritime Studies, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field.

Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in shipping, maritime transportation, vessel operations, cargo operations, or a similar operational role.

Good understanding of maritime transportation and container shipping operations.

Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Strong computer skills and confidence working with operational systems and data.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong team spirit and ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.

Ability to prioritize tasks and perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment.

Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and ownership.

Availability and flexibility to work on a shift basis.
