Job Description

Mint People is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Operations Assistant Manager to join our team and help lead the day-to-day delivery of our nationwide staffing operations.

This is a key role within the business.

You’ll work closely with our Operations Managers and Heads of Department, taking responsibility for clients, supporting and developing the Operations team, managing staffing delivery and making sure we continue to deliver the high standards our clients expect.

You’ll be involved in everything from workforce planning and recruitment to client management, live event delivery and team leadership.

If you’re an experienced operations professional who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and leading people in a fast-moving environment, we want to hear from you.

THE PACKAGE

  • £35,000 per annum
  • Salary increase after one year of service
  • Full-time position
  • Clear opportunities for further progression within Mint People
  • A senior operational role with real responsibility
  • The opportunity to manage major client accounts and staffing projects
  • Work across some of the UK’s biggest venues, events and hospitality businesses
  • Support from an experienced senior management team

THE ROLE

As Operations Assistant Manager, you’ll help manage the people, clients and processes behind our staffing operations.

You’ll take ownership of key accounts and staffing requirements while supporting the wider Operations team to deliver consistently across multiple clients, venues and events.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing day-to-day staffing operations across a portfolio of clients
  • Supporting and supervising Operations Executives and other team members
  • Managing rotas, workforce planning and staffing levels across multiple accounts
  • Ensuring staffing requirements are filled accurately and on time
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients
  • Acting as a senior point of contact for client queries and operational issues
  • Attending client meetings, site visits and event planning meetings
  • Leading on-site staffing operations at major venues and events when required
  • Managing staff check-ins, deployment and live event issues
  • Supporting recruitment, interviews and onboarding
  • Ensuring staff compliance, right-to-work checks and internal standards are maintained
  • Monitoring staff performance and addressing issues where necessary
  • Supporting the training and development of the Operations team
  • Reviewing timesheets, shift information and payroll data
  • Helping resolve pay, staffing and welfare queries
  • Identifying potential staffing issues early and putting solutions in place
  • Supporting the wider management team with planning for major events and peak periods
  • Working across departments to make sure Mint delivers a consistent service to clients

You’ll also play an important role in improving how the team works.

We want someone who can spot where processes could work better, take responsibility for making changes and help the wider team perform at its best.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone with strong operational experience and the confidence to step into a management position with real responsibility.

Experience within staffing, recruitment, hospitality or events would be particularly valuable.

You’ll need:

  • Previous experience in an operations, staffing, hospitality, recruitment or events role
  • Experience managing or supervising people
  • Strong client relationship skills
  • Excellent organisation and workforce planning skills
  • Confidence managing multiple clients and priorities at once
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • The ability to remain calm and take control when plans change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Confidence managing challenging conversations with staff or clients when required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good Microsoft 365 and general technology skills
  • A commercial mindset and an understanding of the importance of client retention and account growth
  • The ability to work independently while supporting the wider team
  • Flexibility around working hours during major events and busy periods
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, due to travel to clients and events

This isn’t a standard Monday to Friday office role.

Our business operates seven days a week, so the position works across five days out of seven on a rota. There will be some weekends, early starts and late finishes depending on events and client requirements.

WHY MINT?

Mint People has been supplying hospitality talent across the UK since 2007.

Today, we support major stadiums, venues, hotels, festivals, racecourses, catering businesses and events across the country.

Our Operations team makes that possible.

As an Operations Assistant Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to take real ownership within the business. You’ll manage important client relationships, support the development of your team and play a direct role in the success of some of our biggest staffing operations.

We’re continuing to grow, which means there is plenty of opportunity for ambitious people to grow with us.

Many of our senior team have progressed through the business, and we’re looking for someone who wants to do the same.

If you’re ready to take the next step into a management role with responsibility, variety and plenty of opportunity to develop, we want to hear from you.
