What are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced and talented Operations Assistant. This role is vital for ensuring the growth and sustainability of Rolfes Agri's market presence. The successful candidate will contribute to achieving team and organisational goals through strong performance, professionalism and collaboration.
What do we expect from the candidate?
The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team, manage responsibilities effectively and consistently deliver high quality work aligned with our organisational values.
The key responsibilities:
Basic operations experience:
Able to execute basic warehouse tasks such as picking, basic operations tasks, packing, housekeeping, forklift driving etc in a chemical storage facility.
Checking incoming stock for discrepancies for accounting and record-keeping purposes.
Monitoring stock levels and conducting physical counts to ensure accuracy.
Ensure proper storage, maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area.
Ensure that goods loaded to be transported are secured (properly wrapped or strapped).
Ensure that goods are safely moved to designated area.
Pick products according to order specifications using order picking slip. Ensure correct quantities and items from the correct location.
Do quality control by inspecting items for damages, defects and expiration dates before picking it.
Observe and comply with quality, environment, health and safety procedures.
Able to understand and comply with:
All SHE related procedures and instructions including the wearing and care of specified PPE for the tasks.
Understand the importance of good housekeeping.
Understands job function, responsibilities and reporting lines
HR procedures and the channels to follow in event of absenteeism, sickness and other HR related issues
The need to report all and any SHE related accidents and/or incidents, near misses or abnormal events immediately to the relevant Supervisor on occurrence (or as soon as practically possible after occurrence)
Accountable for own basic discipline, following instructions, timekeeping, adhering to all company procedures including Safety, Site, Quality control regulations and procedures.
Responsible for reporting all and any safety accidents and incidents, near misses and any other abnormal observations and/or events that they experience or that occur in the area in which they work to the National Warehouse coordinator immediately (or as soon as practically possible after occurrence).
If you possess...
Must have:
Grade 12
Forklift License
4 – 6 months working experience within the chemical industry.
Must be physically fit.
