Operations and Maintenance Trainer in Jamaica, NY

At Alstom, we build what millions depend on daily - rail transportation systems that can't afford to fail. We're more than 85,000 people worldwide creating the industry's most diverse portfolio: high-speed trains, metros, trams, maintenance services and integrated systems.

More Than a Job: A Mission

We are looking for a passionate Operations and Maintenance Trainer who thrives on empowering teams to deliver excellence in rail system performance. You will design and deliver training programs that ensure operational reliability, safety, and efficiency, working alongside dedicated professionals who share a commitment to sustainable mobility.

Your Role, Your Impact

  • Develop and implement scalable training programs for operations and maintenance teams using Alstom’s Learning Management System.
  • Collaborate with engineering, safety, and operations departments to align training content with evolving technical standards and procedures.
  • Ensure reliability of training outcomes through continuous assessment, feedback loops, and performance tracking.
  • Drive innovation in learning delivery using simulation tools, digital platforms, and blended learning techniques.
  • Foster knowledge sharing across teams to build a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Create, maintain, and support the administration of training databases, Learning Management Systems (LMS), qualification matrices, and employee training records.
  • Track training completion, competency status, certifications, recertifications, and training compliance requirements.
  • Monitor training effectiveness through established metrics and performance indicators.
  • Ensure all training materials, equipment, tools, and reference guides are current, available, and properly controlled.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and recommendations related to workforce competency, training effectiveness, and employee development.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits by providing training records and documentation as required.
  • Coordinate training schedules, resources, facilities, and logistical requirements.
  • Collaborate with department managers, supervisors, and stakeholders to identify training needs and develop comprehensive training plans.
  • Conduct periodic training needs assessments to identify competency gaps, operational risks, and workforce development opportunities.
  • Design, develop, update, and maintain training materials, including presentations, manuals, procedures, job aids, assessments, and online learning resources.
  • Deliver technical, operational, safety, and compliance training programs for new hires, existing employees, and contractors.

You'll work with sharp, committed teams solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility, ensuring seamless integration of business and technology.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Training, Education, Engineering, Technical Studies, Business Administration, or a related field; or
  • Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant experience.
  • Ability to translate complex technical data into clear, actionable learning content.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and hands-on training in operational environments.
  • Proven experience developing, coordinating, and delivering technical training programs within maintenance, operations, manufacturing, transportation, rail transit, airport systems, or industrial environments.
  • Experience evaluating employee competencies and supporting workforce development initiatives.
  • Familiarity with operational and maintenance processes, equipment, technical documentation, and safety requirements.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS), training databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience maintaining qualification, certification, and compliance documentation preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams, contractors, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of safety management systems and regulatory compliance frameworks in rail operations.

How Success Is Measured

  • On-time delivery of training programs aligned with operational readiness goals.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance workforce capability.
  • Reduction in maintenance errors and improved operational efficiency through targeted training.

Alstom, A Great Place to Grow

  • Access to advanced digital learning tools and global knowledge networks.
  • Opportunities to make a tangible impact on sustainable mobility from a local base.
  • Career growth supported by continuous learning and professional development programs.
  • Salary Range: 73K-90K

Here, progress isn't always easy but the impact is real. Because the scale is massive, the tasks are complex when the system runs, the train moves, and the city connects that feeling stays with you. And the legacy lasts.
