About the role
Supports core business functions by accurately updating eligibility data, premium payments, and broker information in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements. Responds to inquiries from employers, brokers, and members across phone, email, and web channels, requiring strong knowledge of company products, policy interpretation, premium and date adjustments, and administrative practices.
Key Accountabilities
Eligibility Processing & Regulatory Compliance: Covers reviewing, interpreting, and processing eligibility submissions—including enrollments, terminations, and changes—using the SBB platform and related applications. Ensures accuracy of EDI transmissions, resolves file or data issues, validates broker/agency licensing, analyzes documents to set up and manage group or member eligibility, and stays current on applicable state and federal regulations.
Customer, Broker & Operational Support: Includes responding independently to calls and emails from brokers and group customers, assisting with inquiries and updates, maintaining communication to meet SBB turnaround standards, handling basic broker inquiries and Broker Compensation email/phone support, adding new group CM records, requesting ID cards/certificates, and managing returned mail and address changes through Mainframe updates.
Financial & Administrative Processing: Encompasses preparing and printing refund checks with deposit slips for Treasury, processing and researching returned mail, ensuring accurate record updates, supporting general operational processes, and following up on errors identified in audit reports until resolved.
Minimum Requirements
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment; personal computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and skilled in navigating GF/Mainframe systems.
High School Diploma or GED with 2 - 4 years of related experience.
The compensation range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois):
$22.00 - $36.66 per year
The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
