Job Description

PURPOSE OF JOB:

Expedite and route movement of incoming and outgoing cargo and freight shipments in airline, trucking terminals, and shipping docks. Communicate and receive orders from customers and arrange pickup of freight and cargo for delivery to loading platform. Prepare and examine bills of lading to determine shipping charges and tariffs. To process export shipments accurately and timely, in compliance with U.S. export regulations and customer expectations.

Paid Holidays

Tuition Reimbursement

  • Eligibility for Tuition Reimbursement is three (3) months of continuous employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Enter shipment data into computer system in order to generate required documents and labels, apply rates and charges, arrange export clearance through U.S. Customs, and track shipments with carriers from origin to destination. Daily2. Arrange pick-up of shipments from customer or vendor to Kintetsu World Express, (U.S.A.), Inc (KWE) location. Arrange transfer of shipments from KWE to carrier. Daily3. Arrange flights with airlines for customer shipments, provide flight information and shipment details to customers. Daily4. Print documents for shipments, then assemble and distribute as required for export. Print and apply cargo labels to shipments. Daily5. Close Master Air Waybill (MAWB) and check the entry data of MAWB and House Air Waybill (HAWB) for correction, if needed please revise.

6. Issue and close pouch MAWB’s for shipments being tendered to airlines. As needed7. Assist in visually inspecting freight, ensuring it has the necessary stickers to ship out correctly As needed8. Create invoices for customer shipments, third party, and freehouse billings. Daily9. Provide service and support to customers and overseas offices regarding status, transit, or irregularities of shipments. Daily10. Maintaining and updating customer templates, pre-alert distribution lists, and new customer ID’s As needed11. Run reports for tracking milestones as required for Quality Management System (QMS). Weekly12. Creating and updating non-conformance reports to ensure that QMS standards are maintained. As needed13. Assist in creating and updating operations and customer Standard Oprating Procedures (SOP). As needed14. Assist Supervisor or Manager on Request For Quote (RFQ) rate or service data preparation Yearly. (As needed)
