PermanentReporting to the Head of Mining Solutions and Technology, the Operational Transformation Manager is responsible for orchestrating and executing complex, cross-functional transformation initiatives across the mining business. This role translates strategic priorities into actionable, integrated program plans and drives disciplined execution through structured project management and strong stakeholder alignment.

Responsible to develop and maintain the end-to-end transformation roadmap, establish governance and performance tracking frameworks, and ensure clarity of roles, accountability, and decision-making across multiple teams and organizations. Acting as a central coordinator and advisor, this role works closely with senior leaders to mobilize initiatives, surface and manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of key outcomes.

This position plays a critical role in holding stakeholders accountable to commitments, enabling effective leadership forums, and driving transparency through clear reporting on progress, performance metrics, and risks. The incumbent will lead working teams to execute initiatives, remove barriers, and maintain momentum to achieve sustained operational improvements aligned with strategic objectives.

Major Job Functions

  • Lead Transformation Planning & Execution (35%)
    Translate strategic priorities into an executable program plan ensuring alignment with operational realities and business objectives.

  • Enable Leadership & Delivery Teams (20%)
    Coach and guide sponsors, initiative owners, and program managers to drive alignment, ensure clarity of scope, and deliver outcomes tied to strategic priorities.

  • Governance, Risk & Performance Oversight (20%)
    Capture and work within governance framework to ensure alignment across accountable teams, proactively manage risks, and provide transparent reporting on progress, outcomes, and dependencies.

  • Execution Framework & Discipline (15%)
    Work within a standardized execution framework ensuring all initiatives have clear ownership, defined scope, actionable plans, and measurable performance metrics.

  • Benefits Realization & Value Delivery (10%)
    Implement and monitor benefits realization processes to ensure initiatives deliver sustained strategic and operational value on-time and within the defined schedule.

Specific Skills
  • Expertise in program and project management, including developing program plans, scope management, milestone tracking, and dependency coordination

  • Strong ability to navigate organizational structures, processes, and systems to deliver complex, cross-functional outcomes

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate strategy into clear, actionable plans and messages for diverse audiences

  • Advanced stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to drive alignment without formal authority

  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure

  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risk, urgency, and impact

  • Ability to resolve competing priorities and resource constraints to maintain progress and outcomes

Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of strategic planning, execution, and governance frameworks

  • Understanding of customer expectations and operational drivers within the mining sector

  • Proficiency in project and program management methodologies and tools

  • Knowledge of change management and organizational transformation practices

  • Experience with performance management frameworks and KPI development

Accountability

  • Accountable for the development, governance, and execution discipline of the transformation program and strategic planning processes

  • Drives alignment and accountability across multiple teams and leadership levels to ensure delivery of committed outcomes

  • Establishes and embeds best practices, tools, and frameworks for transformation execution across the mining organization

  • Acts as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing guidance, insight, and escalation on risks, dependencies, and performance

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline

  • Background in project/program management, operational excellence, or consulting is strongly preferred

  • 5–10+ years of experience in consulting, mining, operations, or industrial environments

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex transformation or strategic initiatives

  • Proven ability to influence and align stakeholders across multiple levels without direct authority

  • Experience working closely with senior leadership in a high-impact, cross-functional role
