Operational Resilience sits within the Business Risk and Resilience (BRR) function in the Group & Regional Chief Operating Office. The Global Business Risk and Resilience function will provide visibility of risk and resilience vulnerabilities, remediation activity and strategic guidance regarding potential exposure and impacts, including internal/external environmental changes, embed robust risk management processes, driving strategic outcomes globally across all GCOO teams. The function encompasses Controls Office, Operational Resilience, Protective Security, Business Continuity and Incident Management.

The Role:

In this role you will support the UAE & MENAT Operational Resilience Lead in transitioning the UAE Operational Resilience programme from delivery into Business as Usual (BAU), strengthening the resilience framework across the region, and driving consistent execution of key activities including entity self-assessment, gap remediation, vulnerability management, and governance and reporting. The role will also support completion and BAU monitoring of Important Business Services (IBS) and enable effective engagement with Business Service Owners (BSOs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the transition of the UAE Operational Resilience programme into BAU, helping embed the Operating Model and coordinating the timely completion of annual refresh activities.
  • Support the Operational Resilience Lead in driving engagement and delivery of BSO responsibilities under the operational resilience programme.
  • Provide coordination and secretariat support for the Business Service Owner (BSO) Forum, including agenda planning, materials, actions, follow-ups, and collating the production of BAU packs and reports for lead review and sign-off.
  • Help drive BSO engagement and delivery, tracking ownership, milestones and evidence against responsibilities under the operational resilience programme.
  • Act as a key point of contact with Operational Resilience programme teams, supporting interlocks and day-to-day coordination to progress change implementation activities.
  • Promote Operational Resilience ways of working across the entity, partnering with lines of business, global functions and Technology teams to support monitoring, reporting and performance management for important business services.
  • Track closure of gaps identified through QA by Operational Resilience Lead and maintain transparent status reporting and follow-ups with accountable owners.
  • Work closely with UAE & MENAT stakeholders across businesses, functions and Technology to gather inputs, validate evidence, and support timely delivery.
  • Provide day-to-day risk and control support for IBS vulnerabilities, helping issues data collection, document impacts, and track remediation actions and evidence with the BSOs.
  • Support the Operational Resilience Lead by gathering and analysing MI, incident logs, audit findings, KRIs/KPIs and regulatory updates to identify emerging issues and areas of concern across UAE & MENAT. Track actions and outcomes, maintain issue logs and status dashboards, and escalate material changes promptly to support timely leadership decisions.

In order to apply for this role, you will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in order to obtain a UAE work permit.
  • 1- 3 years’ experience in operational resilience, business continuity, operational risk, controls, incident management, or a closely related risk/resilience discipline within a regulated financial services environment is desirable.
  • Experience coordinating governance activities (e.g., forums/committees), including agenda planning, minutes/actions tracking, and production of management packs.
  • Excellent Communication skills to be able to work with multiple stakeholders (Business, Functions, Technology) to drive delivery against agreed milestones, including evidence collection and follow-ups.
  • Planning and organisation: able to structure work, manage competing priorities, and deliver to fixed timelines (e.g., annual refresh cycles).
  • Communication: strong written and verbal skills; able to tailor messages for senior stakeholders and operational teams; able to produce concise, accurate packs.
  • Stakeholder management: confident engaging Business Service Owners (BSOs) and accountable owners to secure actions, evidence, and timely closure of gaps.
  • Analytical capability: able to gather, validate, and interpret MI (incidents, audit findings, KRIs/KPIs) to identify themes, emerging risks, and required actions.
  • Attention to detail: consistently high-quality outputs with minimal errors; strong document and evidence discipline.
