The Mission
The NFR Hubs Romania team is an integral part of ING’s Non-Financial Risk domain. The teamis responsible forensuring consistent implementation of NFR frameworks, policies, and procedures, while fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment within the hubs.
The Operational Risk Management (ORM) team playsa central rolein safeguarding ING against operational risks. Itis responsible forsetting andmaintainingpolicies and procedures, conducting independent monitoring and oversight across business lines and entities, andidentifyingemerging and material risks. The team provides expert input for quarterly NFRD reporting and drives thematic deep-dives and reviews. In addition, ORM challenges the first line of defense (1LoD) on key metrics, thresholds, and limits that shape the bank’s Risk Appetite Statements—ensuring that operational risk is managed in a structured, consistent, and forward-looking manner. The team works together with the Amsterdam-based ORM team as an integral team across all ORMrisk-areas
The NFR Specialistfor Operational & Processing Risk in Hubs Romania isresponsible for advancing Processing Error Risk and PARP (Product Approval and Review Process), as well as for acting as the local NFR for Global Business and Support Functions including their specific business line control standards

Your day to day
Contribute to setting policies in collaboration with the NFR Framework & Control team;
Challenge and advise on control standards and frameworks to ensure robust risk management;
Oversee the embedding of PARP processes and KRIs (Key Risk Indicators) in the organization;
Act as the local NFR for Global Business and Support Functions, for Processing Error Risk, PARPriskand business line specific control standards;
Contribute to deepdives and reviews related to Processing Risk, PARP risk, collaborating with various teams;
Support local NFR teams withexpertiseand guidance;
Monitor regulatory developments and communicate requirementsinternal;
Contribute to clear reporting and escalation of material risks;
Shapes ING’s approach to operational and processing risk, directly supporting the bank’s integrity and resilience.
Specific Tasks
Contributeto policysettingand simplification for processing risk and PARP.;
Oversee the maintenance and rollout of NFR-owned documents and templates;
Challenge1LoD (First Line of Defense) documents and templates for compliance and effectiveness;
Support local NFR teams withexpertiseandresolvingescalations;
Support senior management in their decision making;
Monitor and reportonProcessingError Risk and PARP across the bank.Acting as local NFR for Global Business and Support Functions, including businessline specific control standards;
Contributeto thematic deep dives and reviews on operational risk;
Communicateregulatory requirements and best practices to stakeholders.
Whatyou’llbring to the team
Universitydegree in Economics, Econometrics, Engineering, or similar.;
At least 3 years’experience in non-financial risk management roles across 1LoD, 2LoD,or3LoD;
Familiar withProcessingRisk, PARP, and relevant regulations (e.g., EBA Guidelines, payments regulation).Familiar with Wholesale Banking and FM activities;
Familiar with (operational)risk management;
Strong ability to work well with others, communicate clearly, and build positive relationships with team members and stakeholders;
Analytical mindset with sound judgment and decision-making abilities;
Cultural sensitivity and ability to work across geographies.
