Introduction to the Job

ASML US, including its affiliates and subsidiaries, bring together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, Netherlands and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler, Arizona, San Jose and San Diego, California, Wilton, Connecticut, and Hillsboro, Oregon.

Role and Responsibilities

Fast market introduction of ASML’s newest technologies requires concurrent engineering by all disciplines. The Operational Planner 4 is accountable for managing and improving operational planning execution within ASML for a defined area. The role ensures execution accountability across multiple stakeholders, resolves complex operational issues, and drives continuous improvement across processes with significant dependencies and ambiguity. The position operates independently on complex operational flows and proactively anticipates risks on a long‑term horizon.

As an Operational Planner, you will:

  • Owns complex operational planning processes with many cross‑functional dependencies
  • Works with management‑level stakeholders across departments
  • Operates with limited supervision, focused on progress and final results
  • Anticipates risks and issues proactively, rather than reactively resolving them
  • Recognized as an Operational Planning Expert within the organization
  • Drive Order Management activities in ASML IT systems for executing parties
  • Ensure correct execution of operational plans according to agreed processes
  • Implement improvement initiatives related to order management and execution
  • Resolve complex operational issues (e.g. quantity, location mismatches, etc.)
  • Perform deep‑dive analyses to prevent issue recurrence
  • Proactively analyze new and existing process flows to prevent future issues
  • Measure, report and highlight risks/gaps in operational planning activities using data and analytics in complex environments
  • Maintain and balance strong relationships with both peer and management‑level stakeholders
  • Advise management on operational risks and opportunities
  • Work with established operational planning systems to achieve business objectives
  • Drive improvements to planning tools, methods and frameworks
  • Apply and lead structured problem‑solving methodologies including A3 methodology
  • Act as a coach and role model for junior colleagues
  • Up to 10% travel annually within the US and internationally

Education and Experience

To help us tackle the technical challenges we face, you will need experience working on high-tech products and with complex processes.

As an Operational Planner, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent combination of education and/or experience – Master’s Degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in an ERP system (e.g. SAP, etc.)

Other Information

  • This position is located on-site in San Diego, California and will be working in a cleanroom environment. It requires onsite presence to perform hands-on activities, attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$66,000-99,000

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
