
Citco Banks are looking for an Operational Control Manager (OCM) who will assist the business in executing the risk management framework. The Operational Control Manager will work closely with business managers and their operational teams to identify and assess operational risks and propose mitigating actions in areas such as payment processing, Depositary Services, Treasury. The OCM will report to the Head of OCM based in Toronto.
Within the three lines model, the OCM team sits in the first line. As the “Operational Control Manager” you will be a key reference point for the business to develop and maintain operational risk and control management processes in everyday activities.
Job Responsibilities in Brief:
Actively support the First Line in implementing the Operational Risk Management program components, including but not limited to: risk event and action plan management, Risk & Control Self-Assessments, Key Risk Indicators, etc. and monitor for adherence to requirements, escalating concerns where required;
Actively support the First Line business managers in designing, assessing and managing the control environment, develop and support a consistent best practice design and the effective execution of internal controls;
Identifying, documenting and assessing key controls for testing on a pro-active basis;
Champion behaviors that embed a strong risk management culture across the company;
Foster strong stakeholder management to enable active and collaborative working relationships;
Coordination/facilitation of the control testing process, which is outsourced to a Shared Service Centre;
Governance: ensure efficient organization and execution of operational risk governance committees including preparation and coordination of meeting materials, drafting minutes and being an active participant/chair of the meeting;
Reporting: Provide a monthly OCM report, presented to various committees, as well as any requested ad hoc report;
Support the Head of OCM and the rest of the team in undertaking ad-hoc projects, as assigned by the Head of OCM.
About You:
Bachelor or University degree level;
Minimum of 5-8 years experience in operational risk management or operational control management, in a financial services institution;
A solid understanding of banking, treasury management, trading and/or payments processes is an asset;
Experience or strong knowledge in Business Continuity Management is an asset;
Ability to build strong relationships with operational staff at all levels and Second Line staff;
Strong analytical, research and reporting skills with attention to detail;
Proven solution provider with an innovative approach;

Strong organization and time management skills
