More about the role
Role Summary:
This role leads and builds strategic vision for MiLight Venture's end-to-end operations — procurement, supply chain, quality and customer delivery. The role drives operational excellence and cost competitiveness across the full product lifecycle, while embedding customer satisfaction into operations: from supplier and market engagement upstream to customer requirements, audits and field quality downstream.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Procurement Strategy & Supplier Management
- Defines and executes the long-term procurement strategy; leads the procurement team to achieve strategic goals, cost-reduction targets and measurable year-on-year savings.
- Analyzes market and commodity trends to identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities; develops dual-source (second-source) strategies to manage supply concentration risk.
- Monitors supplier performance (QBR, Quarterly Business Review) to ensure compliance with framework agreements, quality commitments and business terms; drives supplier development and accountability.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams (R&D, PMO (Project Management Office), sales) to align operations strategy with the product roadmap and business needs.
- Supply Chain & Operations Excellence
- Provides deep supply chain expertise in demand planning, S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning), component planning, production planning and on-time delivery.
- Oversees inventory, warehousing, logistics and shipping execution, including adherence to customer-mandated warehouse and delivery rules (e.g. production-month-sequenced shipments, customer-directed warehousing).
- Ensures supply assurance: capacity planning, escalation and business-continuity mechanisms, and mitigation of component scarcity and lead-time risks.
- Quality Management & Compliance
- Owns end-to-end product and system quality across the value chain: new-product quality planning (design and development gate reviews), supplier and incoming quality, manufacturing process quality, final-product quality and field/after-sales quality.
- Integrates quality planning into NPI (New Product Introduction) and mass production; ensures products meet customer specifications, industry standards and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g. CCC (China Compulsory Certificate), CE, UL, RoHS/REACH (Restriction of Hazardous Substances / Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals)).
- Leads the quality management system (e.g. ISO 9001), certification maintenance and audit readiness, including customer and third-party audits.
- Drives disciplined issue management — 8D (8 Disciplines) root-cause analysis and corrective action, containment and lessons-learned feedback into design and process; establishes quality KPIs (e.g. FFR (Field Failure Rate), first-pass yield) and a continuous-improvement culture across operations.
- Customer Engagement & Satisfaction
- Acts as the customer-facing owner of operations: the single point of contact and escalation for customers on delivery, quality and supply matters.
- Captures the voice of the customer (VOC) through scheduled business reviews, customer audits and quality assessments, translating findings into operational improvement plans.
- Aligns operations with customer requirements across the lifecycle: NPI milestones, order confirmation and delivery commitments, labeling, packaging and special shipping requirements.
- Manages customer complaints and field quality issues with transparency and speed, driving 8D closure and preventive actions; reports status to customers in line with agreed service levels.
- Tracks and improves customer satisfaction and delivery reliability (e.g. OTIF (On-Time-In-Full)), embedding customer feedback into QBR and supplier management cycles.
Critical Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement Management, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in procurement, supply chain or operations within manufacturing (lighting, consumer electronics or similar high-volume industries preferred), including solid hands-on quality management experience (quality systems, process and field quality).
- At least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams, strategic procurement initiatives and cross-functional quality/customer programs.
- Proven customer-facing experience: managing key-account or customer operations relationships, hosting customer audits, and leading QBR-type performance reviews.
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent certification is highly recommended; additional credentials (e.g. CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), Six Sigma, CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management)) are a plus.
- Strong command of English for cross-border collaboration and international customer communication is preferred.
