KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Operations Analyst represents Middle Office Operations throughout the Cleared REPO transition and is accountable for ensuring that the proposed solution is operationally practical, appropriately controlled and ready for sustainable day-to-day processing. The role works in close partnership with the project team, Business Analysts, technology teams, service providers and relevant control functions from solution design through implementation and stabilisation.

Operational Analysis, Process Design & Controls:

  • Partners with the project team and Business Analysts to review business requirements, solution designs and project deliverables from an Operations perspective, providing constructive challenge where operational needs are not fully addressed.
  • Conducts detailed current-state and future-state analysis of bilateral and centrally cleared REPO workflows, covering trade capture, matching, affirmation, clearing, settlement, margin, reconciliation, lifecycle events and exception management.
  • Identifies operational gaps, risks, control weaknesses, dependencies and manual touchpoints, and works with relevant stakeholders to define practical remediation actions and sustainable controls.
  • Validates end-to-end process ownership, roles and responsibilities, hand-offs, escalation routes, service levels and oversight requirements across internal teams and external service providers.
  • Assesses whether proposed workflows are scalable, auditable and support effective day-to-day processing, monitoring and exception resolution before they are accepted by Operations.
  • Ensure operational requirements and agreed acceptance criteria are accurately reflected in process designs, control frameworks, implementation plans and readiness assessments.

UAT Assurance, Defect Review & Operations Sign-off:

  • Works with Project teams to develop risk-based operational test scenarios covering standard processing, lifecycle events, controls, reconciliations, exception paths, failure scenarios and upstream or downstream interfaces.
  • Reviews UAT results and supporting evidence for completeness and accuracy; assesses defects, workarounds and retest outcomes; and confirms that material operational issues are resolved or formally accepted before go-live.

Operational Readiness, Documentation & Implementation:

  • Owns or coordinates the preparation and approval of SOPs, desktop procedures, workflows, process maps, control checklists, operating calendars, escalation matrices, training materials and handover documentation.
  • Supports implementation, parallel run and post-go-live stabilisation, including readiness tracking, operational query management, issue triage, escalation, service-provider follow-up and validation of corrective actions.
  • Provides formal Operations sign-off, or recommends clearly documented conditions for sign-off, based on satisfactory testing, defect closure, control implementation, documentation, training, resource readiness and fulfilment of agreed acceptance criteria.

GENERAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

  • Has strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and proactively with external clearing participants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Experienced in working on transformational projects that created substantial organizational level changes
  • Familiar with Asian and global market regulatory practices, clearing houses, and market infrastructures.
  • Self-motivated, independent, attentive to detail, and highly capable of navigating fluid regulatory environments and ambiguity.

DOMAIN SPECIFIC ATTRIBUTES:

  • Experienced in end-to-end trade lifecycle and strong middle office function, specifically regarding Fixed Income and Repo markets.
  • Specialized knowledge of market-driven changes and clearing workflows (e.g., FICC/DTCC clearing mechanics, margin requirements, or similar central counterparty clearing conversions).

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Business/Finance or related disciplines
  • 3-5 years Financial Services BA experience (Asset management desirable)
  • Prior experience dealing with Fixed Income products, Repo markets, or Central Counterparty (CCP) clearing projects.
  • Excellent customer focus and high level of accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a small, agile project team.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
