We are seeking an experienced Operating Systems Test Engineer to support our ABMS DI Network Manager (DINM) program located in Orlando, FL. This role is part of a team supporting the Department of the Air Force’s Air Battle Management System and its associated digital infrastructure.

This is an on-site role requiring daily presence at our Orlando, FL office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support the Digital Infrastructure Network Integration Lab (DI‑NIL) architecture and services, including RHEL, Windows, and various systems/appliances.
  • Manage configurations, compliance enforcement, directory service integrations, and daily operational oversight.
  • Conduct Verification & Validation (V&V) testing for all systems designed for the production network—from initial build through configuration and service delivery.
  • Ensure all operating systems meet strict DoD compliance requirements and perform optimally, including patch, version upgrade testing, and deployment.
  • Develop complete documentation of system builds, configurations, and process workflows to ensure consistency, repeatability, and auditability.
  • Work directly with customers to configure required operating systems, establish appropriate access controls, and support a least‑privilege environment.
  • Support additional DI‑NIL team efforts, including assisting personnel conducting system verification and validation across the Digital Infrastructure Network.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of related experience Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • US Citizen; Currently possessing an active DoD Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to a TS/SCI clearance upon hire.
  • Possess DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification Security+
  • Demonstrable knowledge of operating systems concepts and applying these concepts to Department of Defense programs
  • Experience with Active Directory deployment/configuration, OU creation, and RBAC-driven security controls.
  • Proven expertise with Linux/Unix systems (RHEL).
  • Demonstrable experience in design review participation and providing customer centric input.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional planning and system integration activities.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of varying technical backgrounds.
  • Foundational knowledge of networking systems and interconnections.
  • Experience with government system security testing (ACAS/Nessus) and remediation.
  • Demonstrated ability to brief technical and non-technical customers.
  • Understanding of networking principles and basic network troubleshooting from the systems perspective

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience with ABMS or JADC2 initiatives.
  • Mid-level networking knowledge.
  • Minimum 4 years of DoD system security testing (ACAS/Nessus) and remediation.
  • Experience designing and deploying networks.
  • Experience with SAFe Agile frameworks and use of agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Prior support of Department of the Air Force programs.
  • Experience working with complex multi-domain systems.
  • Experience designing and validating Cloud, Edge Computing, and network architectures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of test automation and test result analysis.
  • Experience developing test methodologies, test specifications, and executing integration, verification, and validation activities.
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction and maintaining Leidos’ positive brand reputation.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
