Job Description

Adhering to established standards, procedures and policies, the Engineer ensures that the boilers and related equipment is functioning effectively, in order to provide a safe, comfortable and efficient environment for patients, staff and visitors.

What must you have?

  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude skills.
  • Must have knowledge of HVAC equipment and its operation.
  • Stationary Engineers Certificate.
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of boilers and related equipment.

What else do you bring?

  • Adhering to established standards, procedures and policies.
  • Ensures that boilers and related equipment is functioning effectively in order to provide a safe, comfortable and efficient environment for patients, staff and visitors.
  • After conferring with the Chief Engineer, to write job order requests, order parts and make repairs to ensure that all equipment pertaining to Plant Operations is functioning effectively.
  • record all required readings and maintain accurate records regarding the operation of Plant Operations.
  • perform the appropriate tests on boilers, chillers, condensate tanks to determine proper chemical level as per manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others and demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Health’s Commitment to Caring.

Preferably, your profile also includes:

  • Millwright COQ preferred.
  • Hospital experience preferred.
