New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking an Operating Clerk for our Ocean Division in Lakewood, to maintain daily route sequencing data, work orders, and various administrative tasks.

Major Responsibilities:
• Complete daily meter reader work order exception, estimate exception, web meter reader exception, change date, services data, missed and skipped, route date, route time reports
• Complete daily route sequencing data, interprets computer printouts and investigate causes of abnormally high or low meter readings, create work orders in PROD 7 as needed by the supervisor
• Scan and save route time reports in the office’s date specific sub-folder on the drive, scan daily meter reader’s worksheets to the Supervisor, attend/participate in staff meetings, take minute meeting notes
• Collect gas receipts from meter readers and complete monthly fuel reconciliation
• File daily reports, vehicle inspection sheets monthly, meter stations report, and Sum 6 reports, remark customer accounts based upon meter readers trouble messages, and payment amounts customers paid daily
• Contact customers by routing phone calls from the monthly estimated reports to schedule appointments for Special Reads, Meter Exchange, as requested by the supervisor, resolve access problems or complaints concerning meter readings and consumption problems
• Assigns, adjusts and revises meter reader routes according to billing cycles and adjusts workloads to properly accommodate necessary services as requested by the supervisor
• Verify and approve field collection batches on the same day as payments were received, only in-balance collector payment batches are approved by the cashier and verified by the Relief cashier, ensure the cash drawers and stamps are kept in a locked safe when not in use.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field is desired
• Two to four years of related experience is required
• Strong analytical skills and experience with modeling tools required
• Proficiency in Excel required
• Highly motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment across different business units and professional disciplines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Compensation: The base pay for this role is $33.80/hour.
This role will be eligible to participate in a union annual short term incentive program.
