The CU Anschutz Division of Medical Oncology is seeking a full-time Hematologist. This teammember will be providinghealthcare, interacting with professionalcolleagues in a multidisciplinary fashion top rovidecomprehensivecareasa r esp onsibleprofessional.

Primary site of practice will be Highlands Ranch Medical Center (both inpatient and outpatient) with some cross coverage of Lone Tree Medical Center and possibly Cherry Creek Medical Center. There will be inpatient rounding 2-4 days per week at Highlands Ranch Hospital with assistance from an APP. We are looking for a candidate with a strong work ethic who is a team player. We have developed a strong hard-working team who are invested in the program and the patients. We are striving to maintain that energy and value system. The mission of our center is to deliver high-quality, multidisciplinary hematology and oncology care in a highly accessible and patient-friendly manner. We offer cutting edge technology and clinical trials in a community setting. The Highlands Ranch Medical Center is a multispecialty building and offers an on-site infusion center, blood bank, diagnostic laboratory, radiology services (including MRI, CT and PET/CT), a breast center, and multiple specialties including radiation oncology, surgery (general, ENT, breast, urologic, plastics), and gastroenterology (with endoscopy suites). We are connected to a 93-bed hospital and admit our oncology patients with the help of our very capable hospitalist team. This position would focus primarily on hematology, including both malignant and benign hematology. We hope to build a strong relationship with the Anschutz Medical Campus Division of Hematology to help facilitate clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical workseeingpatientsdaily

  • Covering the infusion center on a rotating basis during clinic days

  • Working with Hematology/Oncology APPs (NPs or PAs) in clinic

  • 1:6 call coverage for community practice patients and Highlands Ranch Hospital; approximately 8-9 weeks of call per year

  • Workwith Service Line Directortoexpandthe hematologypractice;

  • AttendMulti-DepartmentalClinics&CME conferencesregularly; Attend oncology service line meetings; clinical trial meetings

  • Assistwith investigator-initiated, cooperativegroup/industrytrials

  • Lead and participatein clinical quality improvement projects including managementof criticalpathway&casemanagementacrossthecontinuumof care

  • Attendviaconferencecallmonthly ClinicalAffairsmeetings, weekly tumor boards,present FellowsConference1/year,assistwith Fellowsinterviews,work with Administratoronclinicaldata&otherdutiesasassignedby Medical Director at Highlands Ranch and/or DivisionHead

  • Maintainaccurate,legible,&confidential recordsusingtheUCHEPICsystem

    • Timely completion of charts within 7 days.

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Highlands Ranch, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Assistant Professor

  • Licensed MD or DO from accredited Institution

  • Board certified in Oncology or Hematology

Associate Professor

  • Licensed MD or DO from accredited Institution

  • Board certified in Oncology or Hematology

  • 4-8+ years’ experience in Community setting in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology

Preferred Qualifications:

Assistant Professor

  • 1 or more years’ experience in Community setting in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Assistant Professor: $350,000 to $400,000

Associate Professor: $400,000 to $500,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
