The Texas A&M University Libraries are seeking an Open Education Resources Librarianto support the growth of open education initiatives that advance course affordability and expand access to high‑qualitylearning materials.This positionadvances OER initiatives by guiding campus partners inlocating, using, and developing open educational resourcesThe Librarian collaborates closely with colleagues acrosslibrariesto deliver educational programming on open licensing, fair use, and public domain materials, ensuring that campus stakeholders are equipped to make informed decisions about instructional content. Salary:$ 62,900annually with a $3,000 allowance for professional development.

Opportunities to Contribute
Open Education Outreach and Engagement
Participates with colleagues, in the libraries as well as across campus, on design, delivery, assessment, and promotion of library programs that support Open Education.
Participates in planning the promotion of Open Education Resources (OER) in collaboration with the Academic Engagement Division, Marketing, and other potential stakeholders, including other library branches.
Promotes Libraries’OpenEdservices at specific library and university events such as faculty and student-focused events and orientations.
Build partnerships with campus groups including the Center for Teaching Excellence, Disability Resources, Student Government, and campus colleges and departments to support OER awareness.
Assistswithlocatingopenly licensed material for faculty. Supports faculty with locating library-licensed materials and libraryreserves.
Participates in departmental and interdepartmental meetings and activities as a member of the Academic Engagement Division.
Participates in creating processes for creation and storage of digital files for OERs. Serves on committees or undertakes special projects as needed.
Ensures and meets the mission, goals, andobjectivesof the Library and University.
Collaboration and Teamwork
Participates in the development and implementation of Library programs and services to meet the needs of students and faculty for instructional design within the open practice framework.
Participates in the planning and coordinating materials with course instructor, instructional design team, and multimedia team.
Supports faculty andor staff through the OER development process and makes recommendations for potential OER material.
Provides project support byestablishinggoals with faculty and monitoring progress to ensure successful completion.
Maintains knowledge of library technology applications, resources, copyright, systematic reviews, and other issues/ trends in the libraries and/or archives related to open educational practices.
Anticipates needs and provides guidance for faculty and/or staff on the inclusion of OERs in course materials.
Collaborates with librarians to coach faculty on accessibility, copyright and fair use, and learning technologies related to OERs and available open publishing tools.
Assessment and Reporting
Participates inthe tracking ofusage data for OERs and develops data reports for each semester.
Participates in the tracking of development of OER on campus using institutional data sources.
Collaborates with Pressbooks manager to incorporate usage statistics into data reports. Compilation of data from all sources to contribute to OER dashboard.
The ability to articulate how data supports student success.
Contributions to the Profession
Participates in scholarly activities and professional service for professional development to incorporatenew ideasand technologies into library services and programs.
Qualifications
Required Educationand Experience:
Master’s degree in library science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Noprior experiencerequired
A Well-Qualified Candidate Will Also Possess:
OEN certificate in Open Education Librarianship. SPARC Open Education leadership. Creative Commons Certification. THECB OER Fellows program.
Knowledge of or experience with special projects and/or event coordination and planning. Knowledge of academic library outreach.
Knowledge of current trends in library services and open education programs.
Knowledge of ADA accessibility and Title II as it applies to higher education (e.g., Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)).
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Knowledge of academic library functions Knowledge of word processing,spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities.
Ability to take initiative. Ability to exercise independent judgement.
Conflict resolution skills. Confidence in public speaking andrepresentingthe libraries Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Open Education initiatives and principles.
