About RSPCA Queensland

For more than 140 years, RSPCA Queensland has been a leading animal welfare charity, dedicated to improving the lives of animals - whether domestic, farmed, or native. We care for over 42,000 animals annually, relying on the generosity of animal lovers like you to fund 91% of our life-changing services.

Our Purpose: We exist for animals to live better lives.

About the Role

Be part of something new from day one - we're looking for an experienced retail leader to launch and lead our brand-new Noosaville Op Shop!

As Op Shop Store Manager, you'll have full ownership of the store's day-to-day success. From building a high-performing team and creating an exceptional customer experience to driving sales, merchandising and operational excellence, you'll lead every aspect of the store. You'll be empowered to make decisions, solve problems and create a positive culture where both employees and volunteers thrive.

This is a hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same and every sale helps make a real difference for animals in need.

What We’re Looking For

You're an experienced retail leader who thrives on ownership and loves creating stores that customers want to come back to. You know what great retail looks like from inspiring teams and delivering exceptional customer experiences to driving commercial performance and you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves to make it happen.

You'll be someone who leads with energy, positivity and accountability, bringing out the best in those around you while creating an environment that's welcoming, inclusive and well organised. You enjoy balancing the commercial side of retail with developing people, solving problems and continuously looking for ways to improve.

Most importantly, you're excited by the opportunity to lead a brand-new store, build a strong team culture from the ground up and make a meaningful impact in your local community.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day operation and overall performance of the Noosaville Op Shop.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of employees and volunteers.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience every day.
  • Drive sales through merchandising, pricing, promotions and stock presentation.
  • Take ownership of store presentation, cleanliness and visual merchandising.
  • Manage rosters, timesheets, leave and day-to-day store administration.
  • Oversee cash handling, banking, POS operations and compliance.
  • Monitor store performance and implement improvements to achieve sales and operational targets.
  • Build positive relationships with customers, donors, volunteers and the local community.
  • Promote RSPCA Queensland's mission while creating a store the community loves to support.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Demonstrated experience leading a retail store or large retail team.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a passion for achieving sales results.
  • Proven ability to coach, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
  • Confidence leading both paid employees and volunteers.
  • Experience in merchandising, stock management and store presentation.
  • Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong administrative, financial and retail systems experience.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Alignment with RSPCA Queensland's purpose and values.

Why Join Us?

  • Comprehensive Support: Enjoy 8 weeks of paid parental leave, flexible working arrangements, study leave, and even leave for your furry companions. We also provide access to counselling and mental health services.
  • Employee Perks: From free on-site parking to exclusive discounts, novated leases, and 50% off Royal Canin pet food, we’ve got you covered! You can also adopt a new furry friend with free adoption options.
  • Professional Growth: Access expansive learning and development programs to help you elevate your career and skill set.
  • Purpose-Driven Impact: Be part of a mission-driven organisation where every task makes a tangible difference to animal welfare.

At RSPCA Queensland, every role contributes to a better future for animals.
