The Opportunity

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Laboratory Technician to join our onsite laboratory team at Bureau Veritas. This role is crucial for in the operation of our onsite laboratories, ensuring both short team and long-term objectives are met. This position would see you responsible for managing the onsite laboratory operation, performing analytical work, ensuring safe and profitable operation of the laboratory and safeguarding service levels to the client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safe day to day operation of the onsite laboratory
  • Mandatory compliance with onsite, bureau veritas and regulatory government
  • occupational health and safety requirements
  • Ensure efficient running of Fusion/XRF/Reporting
  • Facility providing: Full compliance to OHS&E Requirements & Provision of quality data and turnaround of assays within client’s specified requirements
  • Staff management and training
  • Perform analytical tasks including operation of instrumentation and QAQC
  • Troubleshooting
  • Report maintenance requirements of instruments and equipment

About you

  • 3-5 years’ experience in XRF analysis and equipment calibration and maintenance
  • Supervisory experience of 3 years
  • Understanding of OHSE requirements and compliance
  • Knowledge of the company’s activities
  • Sample preparation experience in a supervisory role
  • Full understanding of XRF procedures and processes
  • Onsite mine laboratory experience
  • First aid certificate
  • WHS statutory supervisor (s26) compliant
