Facilitate the shipping process for freight leaving site
* Email or phone notification for items needing to be shipped offsite
* Create bill of ladings dependant on shipping address and ensure all freight has appropriate packing slips
* Create customs documentation for international shipments, ensuring proper values are attached, utilizing internet sources if needed
* Use SAP stock codes and PMO's to help identify freight
* Ensuring TDG forms accompany the freight when needed, sometimes establishing ourselves
* All documentation digitally tracked and manually filed
* Responsible for maintaining all records for require number of years (as per Dow policy)
o Shipping documents -- 3 years plus current
o Customs documents -- 6 years pls current
* Weighing freight for verification
* Using forklift to stage freight for pickup, load/unload trucks
* Maintain tracking and contact with all parties involved with outgoing freight
o Shipment details
o Tracking information
o Delays
o Lost packages
* Ensure all freight leaving site is properly secured for specified transport
* Arrange pickup times with appropriate couriers
* Provide cost centre related po's for couriers
House Keeping
* Sweeping areas clean
* Garbage removal
Health and Safety
* Daily FLHA/PTA cards
* Bi-Weekly safety meeting attendance
* Weekly hazard ID cards
* On-time completion of all Dow required courses (Diamond Learning)
* Read, understand, and follow Vallen's health, safety, and environment policies and all applicable OH&S legislation/regulations
* Actively participate in Vallen's health and safety management system, including training, audits, assessments, safety meetings, and inspections
* Identify, control, and report workplace hazards including following WHMIS/TDG requirements and reporting near misses
* Report workplace injuries immediately and participate in any return-to-work programs or requirements
* Be fit for duty and physically capable of performing all required tasks
* Other duties as required. Qualifications
High School Diploma required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
Minimum 1-3 years of related experience, preferable in a Sales/Distribution environment.
