Online Secondary Maths Teacher (QTS Required)

About the Role

Are you a qualified Maths teacher looking to redefine your career? Equal Teaching is the exclusive recruitment partner for a leading, ethical online education provider that is bridging the gap for vulnerable and displaced learners across the UK.

Please note: We are currently building a high-quality talent pool of Secondary Maths Teachers. By applying now, you'll be pre-qualified and contacted immediately when permanent, fixed-term, or self-employed contractor opportunities arise due to our partner's continued success and growth.

You will work within a sophisticated, purpose-built online classroom, delivering live lessons to students in local authorities and schools using a refined online pedagogy. We offer various engagement models to suit your lifestyle, including full-time employed roles or flexible self-employed contracts (ideally a minimum of 3–4 days per week). You will focus on what matters most: teaching, learning, and student progress, without the traditional classroom barriers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality, live online Maths lessons.
  • Differentiate learning for diverse educational needs, including SEND, SEMH, and ASD.
  • Provide frequent, timely, and purposeful feedback to ensure student outcomes.
  • Collaborate on innovative curriculum design and resource creation.

Requirements

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory. * Proven experience teaching Maths at a Secondary school level.
  • A deep commitment to inclusive education, safeguarding, and a "student-first" mindset.
  • Ideally hold a current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
  • Must provide a current international police clearance for any periods spent working abroad within the last 5 years.
  • Excellent communication skills and a natural flair for digital teaching and learning.
  • Ability to build rapport and manage student behaviour positively in an online setting.
  • A reliable internet connection and a suitable home working environment.

Benefits

  • Employed Salary: £29,458 – £44,115 per annum (pro-rata for Permanent & Fixed-Term roles).
  • Contractor Rate: Earn £24.20 per 45-minute lesson (Self-Employed roles).
  • Work from Home: Teach entirely remotely using your laptop and headset.
  • Ready-Made Resources: Access pre-created schemes of learning and high-quality curriculum materials.
  • Flexibility: Work when it suits you, mainly between 08:30 and 17:00 (contractors can commit to 5–25 lessons per week).
  • Professional Development: Follow comprehensive training and engage in continuous, evidence-informed reflective practice.
  • Focus on Teaching: Real teaching in a purpose-built online classroom, with administrative burdens removed.
