Job Description
ECPI University is seeking experienced business and legal professionals to join our faculty team as Online Faculty teaching Legal Environment of Business.
This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who enjoy sharing their industry knowledge and helping students connect business and legal concepts to real-world situations.
As an Online Faculty member, you will deliver engaging, practical instruction through the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) and conduct weekly live lectures via Zoom. Faculty are expected to create a supportive, student-centered learning environment while using active-learning strategies and real-world examples to help students achieve course learning outcomes.
Candidates must be available evenings and weekends to support students.
Education & Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in business administration, management, or a related field with graduate course work in business law, employment law, or legal studies; or Juris Doctor (J.D.)
- J.D. or Doctoral degree in Business preferred
- 3–5 years of relevant professional/industry experience within the past ten years in related field.
- Experience may include compliance, contracts, HR/employment law, regulatory affairs, or corporate counsel work.
- Two years of online teaching experience preferred
- Strong online presentation and webinar facilitation skills preferred
- Experience with Canvas LMS preferred
What You'll Do
- Teach Legal Environment of Business courses in an accelerated five-week format
- Deliver engaging weekly live lectures via Zoom
- Provide practical, hands-on instruction that connects legal principles with real-world business situations
- Use active-learning techniques and innovative teaching methodologies to enhance student engagement
- Facilitate course activities, discussions, assignments, and assessments through Canvas
- Provide timely feedback, guidance, and academic support to students
- Build rapport with students and create an approachable, supportive online learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students representing a variety of backgrounds and perspectives
- Assist students with basic course-related technology or software questions and direct more complex technical concerns to the appropriate resources
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity
Technical Requirements
Online Faculty must have:
- Reliable high-speed internet access
- A current Windows-based computer and webcam that meet ECPI University's minimum technical requirements
- Ability to conduct and participate in weekly live lectures via Zoom
