
The Departments of Communication Studies and Global Media and Digital Studies invite applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor of Media Studies with expertise in globalization and/or gender and sexuality to begin August 2022. The successful candidate will teach courses such as Introduction to Media and Cultural Studies; Media, Culture, and Society; Research Methods in Global Media and Digital Studies; Globalization and Identity; and Visual Communication and Culture. In addition, the successful candidate will advise Senior Independent Study thesis projects on student-generated topics and will have the opportunity to contribute to the College’s strategic priorities of experiential learning and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Media Studies or Communication Studies and/or an interdisciplinary Ph.D. with a focus on media and communication at the time of appointment. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but a Ph.D. is preferred. Prior teaching is desirable, and applicants should provide evidence of their ability to teach introductory and upper-level courses.
