About the role

Support the Buying Manager to deliver category sales, profit and growth. Working with suppliers and colleagues across One Stop and the Tesco Group, you'll help manage category performance, deliver great products for our customers, and support business objectives through analysis, planning and supplier collaboration.

Please note: This is a hybrid working role. The successful candidate will be required to work from our Walsall, Head Office three days per week, with the remaining two days working from home.

You will be responsible for
  • Support category administration, including product setup, promotional activity, supplier claims and EPOS reporting.
  • Analyse sales and performance data to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Support delivery of sales, margin and profit targets.
  • Build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
  • Support supplier negotiations and joint business planning.
  • Help deliver range reviews and category changes on time and in full.
  • Independently manage selected category areas from planning through to delivery.
  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing and market trends.
  • Support stock and working capital objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and the wider Tesco Group to deliver business initiatives and product launches.

You will need
  • Previous Buying or Category Management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive and self-motivated approach.
  • Collaborative team player
