Job Location Peabody - Peabody, MA Salary Range $30.00 - $30.00 Hourly
The One to One aide is assigned exclusively to one child for a specified period of time. The aide is to work with the child who needs specific attention. A one-to-one aide can provide support to a child in many ways.
Hours: Monday through Friday, afterschool hours (2:30pm-6:00pm) with some flexibility.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Coordinates and maintains individual help and assistance to a child with special needs within an after-school program environment
Provides reinforcement to individual of direct material initially taught by the after-school educators
Maintains or modifies the child’s curriculum and enrichment activities to the needs of the child
Responsible for dealing with and following any behavior plans
Communicates daily with various groups of people outside the program including parents/ guardians, school day teachers, special education department and other team members working with the child
Maintains a daily activity log on progress
Attends parent/educator conferences as required
Performs other duties as may be necessary and assigned by the classroom teacher and/or administrator
Education and
Experience:
Must be 18 years old
Requires knowledge of classroom environment, special education environment, safety issues and needs of special education students
Must have oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills
Any special education software knowledge desired
Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
