Job Description

We are a growing dermatology organization committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered skin cancer care. We are seeking a collaborative and compassionate Oncology Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dermatology team and support patients with complex skin cancers and oncology-related dermatologic conditions.

The Oncology PA or NP will work closely with dermatologists, Mohs surgeons, pathologists, and multidisciplinary care teams to evaluate, treat, and coordinate care for patients with melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, and other cutaneous malignancies. This provider will play a key role in patient education, surveillance, treatment management, and continuity of care throughout the patient’s treatment journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and manage patients with skin cancers and oncology-related dermatologic conditions
  • Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform focused physical examinations
  • Order, review, and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, pathology reports, and diagnostic evaluations
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and specialists
  • Monitor patients undergoing systemic therapies, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, or other oncology treatments for skin cancers
  • Assess and manage treatment-related side effects and complications
  • Conduct follow-up visits and surveillance for patients with melanoma and other high-risk skin cancers
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, prevention, and supportive care
  • Coordinate care with dermatologists, Mohs surgeons, oncologists, radiation oncologists, and other specialists as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient care programs
  • Support the growth and development of dermatologic oncology services within the practice

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Active Oregon PA or NP license (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
  • NCCPA certification for PAs or board certification for NPs
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong documentation and time-management skills
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care

Preferred:

  • Oncology, hematology, dermatology, surgical oncology, or related specialty experience
  • Experience caring for patients receiving immunotherapy, targeted therapies, or other cancer treatments
  • Familiarity with melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, and other cutaneous malignancies
  • Experience interpreting pathology reports and coordinating cancer treatment plans
  • Experience in a fast-paced specialty clinic environment
  • Interest in skin cancer prevention, surveillance, and patient education
  • Interest in contributing to the growth and development of dermatologic oncology services

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $170,000 base salary based on experience
