Job Description

The Onboarding Specialist (Texas) works closely with Recruiting and Hiring Managers to support the onboarding process across the assigned service territory, helping best prepare new employees for their respective work functions. This role also supports Employee Relations by assisting with employee inquiries, addressing workplace concerns, and promoting a positive and compliant work environment. In addition, this position provides administrative support for immigration, visa, and H-2B hiring processes, helping ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Additional responsibilities with various Human Resources initiatives and projects will also be included. This is a fully in-office position reporting directly to the Onboarding Coordinator.

Essential Functions:

  • Support and assist with the hiring process for Pike field applicants and Pike corporate applicants

  • Assist with system training for hiring managers around the onboarding process through Oracle Recruiting

  • Travel to locations for orientation when needed

  • Support and lead the corporate orientation process

  • Act as a main point of contact for new hires and hiring managers through the onboarding process

  • Continuously explore ways to improve the employee experience, employee engagement, and drive retention efforts

  • Work with various stakeholders to continuously improve engagement

  • Willingness to travel and work outside of normal work hours when needed

  • Assist with employee relations

  • Support employment-based immigration processes, including coordinating documentation and timelines

  • Assist with Form I-9 compliance and E-Verify administration to help ensure accurate and timely completion

  • Provide administrative support for H-2B and other visa-related hiring needs, including recruitment tracking, required documentation, and occasional site/crew visits

  • Partner with external immigration counsel by gathering information and supporting petition preparation and filings

  • Track visa expiration dates and assist with renewal processes to maintain work authorization compliance

  • Help ensure compliance with Department of Labor (DOL), USCIS, and other applicable regulatory requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • One to three years of experience in Human Resources, immigration compliance, or a related field, with exposure to employment-based visa processes, I-9, and E-Verify

  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite

  • Experience working with HRIS/ATS integrated systems; Oracle preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at once and solve problems effectively

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including strong grammar, proofreading, presentation, and organizational skills; attention to detail is critical

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information based on a high degree of personal integrity, professionalism, and commitment

  • Must be able to work in a team environment and with employees from all levels within the organization

  • Exposure to immigration or visa compliance processes (e.g., H-2B, I-9, E-Verify)
