Job Title: HR Specialist – Onboarding and Learning & Development

The HR Specialist – Onboarding and Learning & Development is responsible for managing the end‑to‑end onboarding experience of new hires and supporting the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning programs across the organization. The role ensures new employees have a smooth transition into the company and that ongoing training initiatives are aligned with business needs and help build capability at all levels.

Key ResponsibilitiesOnboarding

Manage the end-to-end onboarding process from offer acceptance through the end of probation, ensuring a seamless and engaging new hire experience.

Coordinate pre-employment requirements including background checks, contracts, document collection, and compliance paperwork.

Craft and send communications to new hires (welcome emails, pre-day-1 instructions, schedule, dress code, tools/access, parking, remote setup, etc.).

Prepare and oversee onboarding logistics: orientation schedule, meeting invites, onboarding kits, and access to HRIS, email, tools, and systems in partnership with IT and Operations.

Facilitate or co-facilitate new hire orientation sessions to introduce company culture, values, org structure, policies, and code of conduct.

Ensure timely completion of all required documents and compliance training (e.g., policies, data privacy, security, workplace conduct, benefits enrollment, payroll information).

Act as primary point of contact for new hires and hiring managers during the onboarding period, providing guidance and resolving issues.

Partner with line managers to structure role-specific onboarding plans, buddy/mentor assignments, and first-90-day objectives.

Collect feedback and monitor new hire experience and early performance/retention metrics to identify process improvements.

Maintain accurate onboarding data and documentation in HR systems, tracking progress and generating reports as needed.

Learning & Development

Work with HR and business leaders to identify training needs through consultations, performance data, and feedback from managers and employees.

Assist in designing, developing, and updating training programs, materials, and curricula (e-learning, classroom, blended, microlearning) based on adult learning principles.

Deliver or coordinate delivery of training sessions such as orientation modules, soft skills workshops, leadership development, and compliance training.

Curate and maintain a library of learning resources (guides, playbooks, videos, LMS content) and ensure onboarding content is integrated with ongoing development offerings.

Coordinate training logistics including invitations, venue/virtual setup, materials, attendance tracking, and follow-up communication.

Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback surveys, assessments, and performance indicators; propose enhancements based on data.

Support implementation and administration of learning platforms (LMS, content tools), ensuring accurate records of participation and completion.
