We are looking for a confident and experienced Onboarding Specialist to join the compliance team. The role focuses on managing the end-to-end onboarding process for merchants, with a particular emphasis on acquiring services. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise from acquirers and exposure to high-risk verticals such as crypto, forex, and adult, ensuring smooth merchant integration while meeting strict regulatory and scheme requirements. The role involves active communication with international teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of onboarding specialists
Oversee end-to-end merchant onboarding processes, ensuring quality and compliance
Act as the key escalation point for complex and high-risk onboarding cases (crypto, forex, adult, etc.)
Ensure alignment with Visa, Mastercard, and internal compliance standards
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Risk, and Compliance teams
Monitor onboarding performance, KPIs, and process efficiency
Drive process improvements, automation, and scalability of onboarding operations
Maintain strong documentation, reporting, and audit readiness
Requirements
5+ years of experience in onboarding, underwriting, or KYC within fintech/payments
Proven experience in card acquiring and merchant onboarding
Prior experience managing or mentoring a team
Strong exposure to high-risk industries (crypto, forex, adult, etc.)
Solid understanding of Visa/Mastercard requirements and payments compliance
Fluent English; additional languages are a plus
