About The Role

Hello Clever is looking for an Onboarding Associate in Manila to help business merchants move from signed opportunity to payment readiness. You will manage the operational steps of B2B merchant onboarding across our markets: gather and check information, coordinate requirements with internal teams and payment partners, track decisions and follow cases through to a clear handover for launch.

This is a hands on payments role for someone who has already onboarded business customers at a payment service provider, acquirer, fintech, bank or similar business. You will work closely with Sales, Compliance, payment partners, Product and our global Operations teams. Compliance retains ownership of risk decisions and approvals; your role is to keep each case complete, accurate and moving.

What You’ll Do

Merchant onboarding and case management

• Coordinate assigned B2B merchant applications from intake through document collection, partner submission, approval dependencies and operational handover.
• Review applications for completeness and consistency, including business model and expected payment flows. Raise gaps or discrepancies for the appropriate team to assess.
• Communicate clear document requests and next steps to merchants and internal stakeholders; follow up promptly and maintain an accurate case history.
• Keep onboarding records, the Merchant Discovery Form and case trackers current so status, owners, blockers and decisions are visible.

Payment partner coordination and launch readiness

• Prepare onboarding packs for banks, acquirers and other payment partners in line with their requirements, and track questions or additional requests through resolution.
• Work with Sales and Compliance to confirm the proposed product, market, merchant entity and payment flow are understood before submission; escalate requirements that do not fit an approved route or process.
• Coordinate the handover to Support, Activation and other Operations teams, including approved setup details, partner conditions, key contacts and outstanding launch actions.

Process quality

• Use market playbooks and checklists consistently, flag recurring bottlenecks and help improve templates, data quality and handovers as the onboarding model scales.
• Track turnaround times and common rework causes, and give the Onboarding Manager a practical view of workload, ageing cases and risks to merchant go live.

What We’re Looking For

• Direct experience in B2B merchant or business customer onboarding within payments, acquiring, banking or a fintech payment product.
• Working knowledge of KYB and merchant due diligence information, including company documents, beneficial ownership, business activities and bank account verification.
• Familiarity with merchant payment flows and the operational dependencies between commercial agreement, compliance review, payment partner approval, configuration and go live.
• Strong case ownership: you can manage several applications at once, follow up without prompting and keep records accurate when requirements change.
• Clear written and spoken English, with confidence asking specific questions of merchants, partners and other team members across markets and time zones.
• Comfort with spreadsheets, CRM or case management systems and structured documents. Experience improving onboarding workflows or self-service journeys is a plus.
