Your Opportunity:
As an On Train Customer Service Attendant - Kuranda Scenic Rail (internally known as Guest Services Attendant), you will deliver exceptional customer service whilst ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers across both Heritage and Gold Class Services on the Kuranda Scenic Rail. On arrival at Kuranda Station, you will serve customers in out Gift Shop and assist with providing food in our refreshment room prior to returning on the afternoon service.
You’ll work with up to eight people in a non-airconditioned environment.

Roles / Hours:
This is a permanent part-time opportunity which guarantees 53.6 hours per fortnight however depending on the needs of the business you may be required to work up to 76 hours per fortnight.
You will work between the hours of 0745 to 1606 or 0855 to 1736 on a rotating roster which will include weekends and public holidays.
If assisting with Station duties, you may be required to work between the hours of 0515 to 1251.
The roster will be provided one week in advance so flexibility is essential.
Purpose That Counts. As a On Train Customer Service Attendant, some of your duties will include:
• Creating a memorable onboard customer service experience for all passengers
• Verifying ticket validity, ensure correct seating and maintain onboard presentation standards
• Performing catering duties in our refreshment room at Kuranda Station or in our Gold Class Service, adhering to food hygiene and responsible service of alcohol regulations
• Reporting incidents, activities and defects to the Senior Guest Service Attendant
• Staying up to date on Queensland Rail Tourist Train service, products and third-party travel offerings
• Performing platform duties which includes assisting with customer enquiries and general cleaning of the platform area

• Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service
• Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• A safety-focused mindset
• Strong work ethic and willingness to go the ‘extra mile’
• Be prepared to work onboard in a non-air conditioned environment
• Be prepared to travel e.g. to Brisbane and Rockhampton for training
• Previous customer service experience from a travel / tourism / hospitality / retail background would be highly desirable
Candidates will also need to obtain the below statement of attainment certificates prior to employment:
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
