Job Position Description:

This position is 1st or 2nd shift, M-F, full-time, approximately 40 hours/wk

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced On-Site OSHA 500 Safety Coordinator to lead construction site safety initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of safety excellence. This pivotal role involves overseeing safety protocols on active construction sites, implementing OSHA standards, and fostering a proactive safety environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of construction safety regulations, and a passion for protecting workers and project integrity. Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety programs aligned with OSHA 500 standards and other relevant regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards related to electrical safety procedures, occupational health risks, and general construction workplace safety regulations.
  • Lead safety training sessions for construction teams, including first aid and CPR certification, NFPA standards, ANSI standards, and OSHA compliance practices.
  • Manage incident investigations, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure adherence to construction management software systems for tracking safety metrics, compliance documentation, and risk management activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers and team leaders to integrate safety management into daily operations while maintaining compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA standards, and occupational health expertise.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction regulatory compliance requirements and industry best practices to foster continuous improvement in site safety performance.
Qualifications

  • Proven experience in construction site safety management with a strong understanding of OSHA 500 standards.
  • Minimum of 5 years field experience, 8 years construction experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk management, occupational health, and construction workplace safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with NEC wiring codes, ANSI standards, NFPA standards, and electrical safety procedures within construction environments.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in team leadership and safety training implementation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and construction management software for compliance management and reporting purposes.
  • Hands-on experience with construction project oversight, including construction site experience and construction management practices.
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation processes and EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with diverse teams and external agencies; First aid and CPR certification preferred.
