Job Description

For over 40 years, Celerion has stood at the forefront of global bioanalytical contract research, partnering with pharmaceutical and biotech innovators to bring new therapies to patients faster. Our growing Fehraltorf/Zurich site is at the heart of that mission.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a technically versatile and people-oriented On- Site IT Specialist to join our global IT team in Zurich. As one of the primary on-site IT representatives, you will serve as the trusted face of IT for our Swiss colleagues — combining deep technical skills with genuine service commitment. If you thrive on solving complex problems and want your expertise to matter, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary on-site IT point of contact and escalation lead for the Zurich site, coordinating with local and global IT teams as needed.
  • Deliver comprehensive desktop and systems support across Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft 365, Adobe Acrobat/Creative Cloud, Oracle Client Tools, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop, and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
  • Execute Install/Move/Add/Change (IMAC) activities and perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal workstation performance.
  • Provide hands-on support for Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and local network infrastructure — including switches, patch panels, and structured cabling — in coordination with centralized infrastructure teams.
  • Manage and resolve daily support activities via the ticket management system, maintaining accurate updates and clear user communication through to resolution.
  • Support local backup, restore, and archival processes; maintain working knowledge of ODBC connectivity and basic SQL client configuration.
  • Lead endpoint deployment and imaging activities using tools such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, and Autopilot.
  • Ensure all endpoint and infrastructure systems comply with GxP and data-integrity regulatory requirements, validated processes, and change control procedures.
  • Provide IT onboarding training for new hires and ongoing end-user guidance to maximize productivity.
  • Assist with on-site cabling, local switch installation, and network equipment troubleshooting.

What You Will Bring:

  • Post-secondary education in IT or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 3–5 years of proven technical support experience spanning desktops, servers, and networks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required; fluency in German is highly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft operating systems and the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem; experience with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Defender, Oracle clients, and Citrix environments.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VLAN concepts, and basic switch configuration.
  • Familiarity with endpoint deployment tools such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, and Autopilot.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Microsoft certifications (Azure Administration, Windows Server Hybrid Administration, or Modern Desktop Administration Associate) are a distinct advantage.
  • Experience in regulated environments, including lab instrumentation support, is advantageous.
  • Full on-site availability in Fehraltorf/Zurich is required.
  • We look forward to your application. Kindly provide your resume in English.
