On-Premise Operations Manager

Blue Ridge Beverage Company, Inc., a leading distributor of beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages in Central and Southwest Virginia, is looking for a full time On-Premise Operations Manager to help grow our business.

On-Premise Operations Manager drive community engagement and enhance the company’s image through oversight of special events and draught line cleaning within the Division.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning and directing special events for the Division to ensure all contractual and legal requirements are met.
  • Conducts short and mid-range planning for events to coordinate activities between the company and customers and ensure proper inventory and staffing levels are available.
  • Administers all phases of events, including but not limited to customer licensing, order creation, equipment, staffing, and inventory communication.
  • Trains, supervises, and works with employees and volunteers to properly staff events.
  • Ensures all equipment required for events is properly maintained, including cleaning, maintenance, storage, and transport.
  • Directs all activities for a team of Draft Technicians. Responsibilities include recruiting, training, planning, and directing work, appraising, and managing performance.
  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the Division’s draught line cleaning program, including scheduling, ensuring Technicians are properly trained and certified, maintaining equipment, supplies, logs, and other administrative materials.
  • Provides staffing relief by covering sales routes as needed when assigned Account Manager is unavailable.
  • Designs and prints point of sale materials for the division sales team as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or education equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of relevant sales, marketing, or event planning experience. Experience in the three-tier system of beer, wine, or spirits preferred.
  • Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate distinct brand and product attributes and competitive position.
  • Excellent listening, negotiating and presentation skills with retailers and community partners.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated success in setting priorities; exceptional analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills; strong ability to multi-task across diverse projects, issues, and scenarios, with the ability to pivot quickly.
  • Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts.
  • CDL-B license, or willingness to obtain, and driving record that meets the criteria for being an authorized driver in accordance with Company policy.
  • Ability to safely operate any delivery vehicle, including commercial motor vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of up to 26,000 pounds.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen that includes THC.

The following list of physical requirements are required to perform the entire job: frequent bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and sitting; fine finger and hand manipulation; speaking clearly; hearing so as to be able to maintain conversation; seeing so as to be able to read and to drive a vehicle; and lifting, moving and carrying up to 25 lbs., frequently lift and/or move more than 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 lbs. Must be able to work in varying temperatures as assignments may involve working in a cooler.
