
PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
The purpose of this role is to ensure high-level leadership, management and performance in
the development and delivery of projects delivered by EMAC. Overseeing the productivity of
the On Country Management Branch and On Country Guardians as part of works programs in
cultural heritage and natural values management, including fire management, and protecting
and promoting Eastern Maar culture and Country as it relates to the Eastern Maar Society.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY DUTIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:
Strategic Development and Implementation
Assist and lead in the development and implementation of the strategic direction of the
Corporation and Biocultural Landscapes Division.
Provide leadership, management and strategic direction to On Country Operations Branch
Ensure the effective implementation of coordination, supervision, and management of
works undertaken by On Country Guardians.
Identify, promote and activate development opportunities for Guardians in all aspects of
EMAC work.
Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with the Eastern Maar
Community and EMAC.
Continuous Quality Improvement and Policy Management
Oversee and support Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives, ensuring policy innovation,
development, and implementation align with industry best practices and Eastern Maar values.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the corporation.
Oversee and contribute to a comprehensive risk management framework, integrating it with
continuous improvement activities.
Administrative Operations
Oversee and support the day-to-day administrative operations of the corporation.
Depot, Plant and Equipment
Management of EMAC assets including depots, plant and equipment relative to On Country
Branch.

Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation's role is to protect and advance the aspirations of Eastern Maar citizens by managing their native title and cultural heritage rights and interests and implementing aspects of the Eastern Maar Settlement Agreements to be negotiated with the State of Victoria under the Traditional Owner Settlement Act 2010.
EMAC is also responsible for providing high quality policy advice, leadership in developing key initiatives, and strengthening the capacity and independence of Eastern Maar citizens.
